Q. I am the owner of a Nokia N95. The phone is 5 years old ad it's pretty beat, but it worked fine until now. A couple days ago the display just died, and now I have to recover over 300 contacts from it. Can anyone help with that?

A. You can do two things here:

(i) Connect your cell to the comp using Nokia PC Suite and copy all the contacts it shows.

(ii) If your contacts are on your SIM card, just use a SIM reader (it's a device u'll have 2 buy if u didn't know)

P.S. Incase you dont know the order of options your phone displays once you connect it to the PC and dont know where PC suite option is, just connect you phone, open PC suite and search for connected phones using it.

Go to Tools > Profiles > Whatever Profile You Want > Personalise > Warning Tones "Off".

Holding down the # button will also put your phone in the Silent Mode profile which already has warning tones disabled.

Simple as that. All warning tones will be disabled including the Nokia sound that happens at startup every time you restart your phone.

If that didn't work then your phone's regional firmware probably doesn't allow silencing or disabling the camera sound

When i send it, I open it from my message box and then it comes up copy, and open. What do i do then ?

A. Themes for the N95 as well as any other Symbian Smartphone will come in SIS or SISX file (Symbian Installer). You would need to run that installer and install the theme first before you can use it.

Unlike Nokia Cellphones (Series 40), that come in .NTH files, NTH (Nokia Theme) files wont work on S60 Smartphones or Symbian Smartphones.

Basically, all you need to do is to put the SIS or SISX file in your memory card and open it using File Mgr. on your phone. It will ask you where to install it (memory card or phone memory).

If you Bluetooth the file to your phone, then it SHOULD go in your Messaging Inbox. From there, open the Bluetooth Message and it should install.

Once everything is installed, you can go to Settings -> Personalization -> Themes and select it from there. The path will be different if you have a different firmware. I suggest installing the latest firmware for your phone to enjoy the benefits of your N95.

Go to Tools > Profiles > Whatever Profile You Want > Personalise > Warning Tones "Off".

Holding down the # button will also put your phone in the Silent Mode profile which already has warning tones disabled.

Simple as that. All warning tones will be disabled including the Nokia sound that happens at startup every time you restart your phone.

If that didn't work then your phone's regional firmware probably doesn't allow silencing or disabling the camera sound

How do i turn off the flashing light on front of the Nokia N96?

Q. When the phone is closed and in standby mode, there is a light inside the middle button which flashes every few seconds
Is there anyway to turn it off?

A. Go to "tools" then choose "Settings" then "General" then "Navi Wheels".
Change the "Breathing" option to OFF, this will turn off the light of the square/middle button.

A. Yes, you can do all of that. But remember, an N96 or any cellphone for that matter has a very small screen, so you have to get used to browsing the internet on the very small screen. Also, some website like Yahoo! have a different webpage for mobile phones.

What is the difference between Nokia E71 and Nokia E63?

Q. They seem to be the same thing...E63 is cheaper so i want to know the difference between this two and make a good choise.

Is it a good idea to buy a Nokia E71 phone now considering it's been around since 2008?

Q. Been wanting to buy a new phone but I'm on a budget and based on my research, the E71's a pretty good phone especially in terms of messaging and browsing. But will it's system be around for another few years at least?

A. It is still good. It's system will not expire or anything. It is true that the touchscreen phones will command the sales on the years to come, but Symbian 60 phones will need more that just years before they retire. Have you seen the E5? It is a new phone of Nokia, but spec wise, it's features are just like the E71's.

A. Usually when you put your simcard in the phone you can transfer them, the problem is Iphones have smaller sim cards dont they? so your options are to go them yourself one by one, or going to the shop you bought it and asking them

How do I transfer photos from my Nokia phone to my computer?

Q. When I use the USB cable all that comes up is a box with only two options:

Synchronize media files to this device using Windows Media Player

or

Take no action

I clicked the first but that's for music only. I'm not sure if I'm missing something in my computer to allow me to transfer the photos or if the USB cable doesn't work.

I could try bluetooth but I have no idea on how that works.

Any thought? Ideas? Suggestions?

*If your "phone" pops up with options, pick mass transfer or storage or something like that (not music, or PC suite, although PC suit option should work too)

*Pick take no action on your computer when the thing u are talking about pops up

*Open My Computer and in there you will find an extra drive, double click it and it will give you access to your phones folders.

A. First has your acer got bluetooth ? If not use a usb lead and you get better transfers, than by bluetooth.

A. you need to resat the wifi router and delete the wifi access point from device and .menu>settings>connectivity>destination>internet >wifi (name) delete that one .
and dial *#7780# to restore factory settings for his device and security code

A. The phone do not have many good functions, the flow of touch is very bad in that phone and same is with Nokia 97, browser of that phone is also not that good. i would recomend you to buy Samsung Omnia or iPhone or Sony Xperia these are some great touch phones!
