Can the Nokia N810 WiMAX Edition be used as a phone?

Q. Minus the Skype.
Can you actually make/receive calls as you would with a normal cell phone? And send/get text messages?

A. it's important to remember that the N810 isn't a phone - it connects to the Internet using either WiFi or a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone

Does the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet have a one time fee only?
Q. Does the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet have a one-time charge only? Or do I have to pay monthly fees like a phone? Thanks!

A. There are no monthly fees with the N810. It uses wifi (wireless internet) to browse the internet.

You can either use it at home (if you have wifi) or at places that offer free wifi.

What bands does the Nokia N810 WiMAX Edition use?
Q. I was wondering if the Nokia N810 WiMAX Edition is a unlocked quad phone, I can't find the bands you can use it with, if it isn't does anyone know a phone like it? If I don't get this one I'll probally get the Nokia N96, and yes a unlocked quad is a must since I never know when I'll change carriers and I don't want to have to get a new cell phone when I do.

A. Quad band phones are known as world phones ie they have both the EURO and the US GSM bandwidth (850/900/1800/1900) so you don't need to worry about switching the phone because as long as your with a GSM carrier your phone will support their simcard. Hope this helps.
